Ken Seibert’s piece

07Jun09

I saw my friends Ken and Karl at sotodo and we almost immediately started talking about doing exactly the same piece. But we had no idea we were both thinking on the same lines prior to our encounter.

I started talking about how no one seems to think about our relationship to food and how it can be an act of violence. Ken suggested we kill a chicken, clean it and cook it and feed the bystanders. It’s exactly what I’ve been thinking! So we did it. Since he had the chicken, and knew how to do it, it was his piece, but I absolutely had to be a part of it. He controlled the aesthetic, and the order of actions. It all went well. And a lot of people ate.
